Where to use
Use on bare wood surfaces: wood siding, smooth or rough sawn shakes, singles, and fences. Marietta Stains can also be used on interior plywood paneling. Marietta Stains are not recommended for brushed or abraded plywood. Do not use on flat surfaces such as decks, floors, table tops, etc.

Surface preparation
Surface preparation is a key factor in proper finishing. The surface must be clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease, and mildew. Fill holes and cracks with paste wood filler.

Application
Apply only when the air temperature and that of the surface to be stained are above 50 degrees F. Stir thoroughly before using. Apply a full even coat by brush, pad, roller or spray. To avoid lap marks, maintain a continuous wet edge. Do not apply in direct sunlight. Avoid staining late in the day when dew or condensation are likely to form or when rain is threatening.
