Special properties
No. 11 White Enamel Undercoat is a specially formulated alkyd primer suitable
for use on nearly all interior surfaces. It may be top coated with latex,
alkyd, or oil-based paints.
Where to use
No. 11 is an excellent undercoat for cabinets, unpainted furniture, plywood,
woodwork and even bare metal.
Surface preparation
Bare wood should be well sanded, clean and dry. Apply a spot coat of shellac-based
primer to knots and resin streaks appearing in new wood before undercoating.
Previously painted wood must be clean, free from grease, dirt, mildew,
flaking and chipping paint. Slick or glossy surfaces should be dulled
by sanding.
Application
Apply only when the air temperature and that of the surface to be painted
are above 45 degrees F. Stir thoroughly before using.
Colors available
No. 11 is furnished only in white, but it may be tinted with machine colorants
or universal colorants to approximate the topcoat color.
